How it works

A patient you can actually talk to

MEKSI gives you a virtual patient who answers your questions, reveals findings when you look for them, and lets you commit to a diagnosis. You run the whole consultation. Then you find out how you did.

Three skills, one consultation

A real consultation is not a quiz. MEKSI works the way clinical reasoning actually works, in order.

Step 1

Data gathering

Take a history in your own words. Ask what you would ask a real patient, follow the answers where they lead, and order the examination and investigations you think you need.

Step 2

Data interpretation

Read what comes back. The patient's history, the examination findings and the results are yours to make sense of, the same way you would on the ward.

Step 3

Clinical decision making

Commit to a differential and a plan. MEKSI holds you to the decision, then shows you where your reasoning was sound and where it was not.

It answers like a patient, not a form

Ask in plain language. The patient responds in theirs. You are not clicking through a checklist, you are running a conversation, and what you choose to ask is what you are marked on.

You

What's brought you in today?

Bob Ray

I've been getting really short of breath. Walking up the stairs at home sets it off now, and it's been creeping up for a few months.

You

Do you ever wake up at night short of breath?

Bob Ray

Yes, actually. A couple of times I've had to sit up on the edge of the bed to catch my breath.

You get a report, not just a score

Every consultation is marked against a clinical rubric. See the flags you caught, the ones you missed, and why each one mattered.

Three ways to consult

Run the same case by text, by voice, or face to face with a video patient. The skills stay the same. The room gets more real.

Common questions

How realistic are the virtual patient interactions?

The patient answers in natural language and adapts to how you run the consultation. It responds to your questions, reveals findings when you look for them, and reacts to your approach, so it feels like a conversation rather than a form.

Can I track my progress?

Yes. Every consultation is scored against a clinical rubric, and your reports build a record of where you are strong and where you can improve over time.

Do you have cases for different specialties?

Case packs cover a range of specialties and presentations. Each pack lists what it contains so you can pick what fits your exams or your practice.

Can my medical school use MEKSI with a whole cohort?

Yes. We license MEKSI for institutions and can work with your faculty to line the cases up with your curriculum. See the institutions page or contact us.
